The Open Archival Information System (OAIS) Reference Model is a draft ISO standard that provides a framework for preserving and maintaining access to electronic information. OAIS has the potential to facilitate future efforts between digital libraries, archives and other institutions with electronic records.

Speakers at this day-long symposium described OAIS, its significance to libraries, archives and other information repositories, and its application to digital library projects.

Speakers presentations (PowerPoint files) are available from the Program and Biographical Sketches pages.
